Concept: ‘Healing Garden’- A series of interior and exterior artworks based on the theme of healing spaces in the acute mental health inpatient units. The artworks provide a calming focus at the first point of entry into the unit with words and phrases generated by patients at special ceramic workshops provided at the start of the project. The large courtyard in Grangewood was the last one of three to be completed ( the other 2 were previously completed 10 years ago) and now the staff and patients have colourful interest all year round as well as being able to use the space to grow their own flowers as part of therapy. The artworks in Omagh include familiar flowers and a number of patient pieces.
