£180.00
High fired, original printed stoneware ceramic picture , framed and painted – size 55 x 31 cm
Description
A one off, high fired ceramic framed wall hanging with printed and impressed surfaces. The Arctic tern, sometimes called the sea swallow, is a summer visitor to Irish shores and spends its winter 8700 miles away near Antarctica. They come to breed at a few different locations, including Strangford Lough, RSPB Belfast Lough, Carlingford Lough, the Ards Peninsula and the Copeland Islands. This image of two Arctic terns was inspired by the Strangford Lough area of Northern Ireland. Glazed in blues and soft pink, this ceramic artwork has a soft silky glaze over layers of painted slip reflecting the northern Irish skies and sea.
